SUMMARY:

Responsible for ensuring Loading Dock is neat and organized, safe and secure, while managing storage and shipping/receiving for the property. Assists where needed during slower times of the month in valet, bell, front desk, and loss prevention. Protects company and guest assets from internal and external theft; follows established loss prevention policies and procedures.

 

  • Identifies situations where loss prevention violations have occurred and takes reasonable and prudent action.
  • Protects company assets from internal and external theft by observing and reporting security hazards and suspicious activity.
  • Maintains the Loading Dock. Ensures it is clean, organized, and safe. Manages the shipping and receiving of all packages in and out of the hotel.
  • Receives all packages and delivers accordingly.
  • Help customers with Billing and Payment processes.
  • Work with other departments as appropriate to maintain knowledge and relationships necessary for efficient and effective operation.
  • Assists with storage and organizational practices around the hotel
  • Reviews all shipping/receiving invoices and ensures they are up to date and processed accordingly
  • Posts transactions for shipping charges in the POS software
  • Ensures all shipping charges are proper and reconciled daily
  • Safety and security walks of the property
  • Creates SOP documents and assists enforcement of all policies related to the loading dock and shipping procedures
  • Proactively works to plan all group shipping functions, including attending pre con meetings and communicating with group contact pre-arrival.
  • Represents the hotel in a professional manner with guest interaction and carries a professional demeanor in the handling of all shipping/receiving functions.
  • Audit lost & found items to ensure all items are logged.
  • Assist owners and guests during emergency situations.
  • Assist owners and guests with luggage up to and from their rooms as requested.
  • Retrieves/parks owner and guest cars as requested.
  • Performs a variety of warehouse support functions such as delivery, planning, reports, forms, and specialized documents, and proofreading and checking materials for accuracy, completeness and compliance with departmental policies and regulations.
  • Contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of service to its customers by offering suggestions and directing or participating as an active member of a work team.
  • Demonstrates courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with public and staff; acts in a manner that promotes a harmonious and effective workplace environment.

Skills / Requirements

Education and Experience:

High School Diploma/GED; AND two (2) years of shipping/receiving logistical, loss prevention and administrative support experience; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

 Required Knowledge and Skills

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

Mobility to work in a garage like setting and use standard warehouse equipment; stamina to sit for extended periods of time; strength to lift and carry up to 75 pounds; vision to read printed materials and computer screen; dexterity to utilize computer equipment; hearing and speech to communicate in person or over the telephone; Continually work around fumes, airborne particles
