Job Description

One Steamboat Place, is looking for a full time Maintenance Technician, to work with the facilities team supporting the day to day operations at this beautiful ski in ski out community.   This position is a 40 hour per week position, year-round, and will require some weekends and evenings.

Essential Functions:

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

· Coordinate and prioritize work requests with Facilities Manager and the Director of Resort Operations

· Read and interpret equipment manuals and work order to perform required maintenance and service

· Perform Residential arrival-check of units and correct any deficiencies, such as:

o Switches

o Bulbs

o Ease of doors opening/closing

· Perform daily, weekly, and bi-weekly checklist items

· Assist with preventative maintenance plans for the facility

· Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties

· Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas

· Valid U.S. driver’s license, with clean record, preferred

· Ability to perform basic maintenance duties for all One Steamboat Place units including:

o Plumbing: unclog sinks, toilets, showers, and tubs; repair/replace toilets, faucets

o Electrical: repair/replace broken switches, plugs, fuses; replace smoke detectors and/or batteries

o Carpentry: repair/replace damaged wood trim, make doors and windows operable, including sash cords; repair/replace door and window hardware

o Glazing: replace broken door/window glass

o Painting: exterior and interior

o Drywall repair

Supportive Functions:

Any other additional tasks as assigned


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge and/or skill required.

Education and Experience:

· High School Diploma or GED

· OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

· Willing to assist with additional on-the-job training

Knowledge and Skills:

Preferred Knowledge of:

· Using a variety of tools, materials, and practices associated with building and grounds maintenance such as: hand tools, drills, chop saws, levels, week eaters, lawn mowers, scissor lifts, electrical meters, wrenches, bearing pullers, and hammers

· Have previous customer service experience

· Able to learn Fire panels, fire and life safety devices, fire pumps, and jockey pumps

Skilled in:

· Familiarity with computers and computer related programs such as Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, iPad, iMacs, iPhones, and Android apps

· In all situations demonstrate Character, Courtesy, Calm, and Charm

· Ability to learn and understand a variety of information pertaining to the resort and the area we serve

· Planning and prioritizing of tasks in a self-directed work environment and maintaining high levels of productivity without direct supervision

Able to:

· Write routine reports and correspondence

· If not already certified, while employed, obtain the Certified Pool Operator Certification (CPO) within one year of employment, paid for by One Steamboat Place

· Work independently or in a team environment and take direction

· Work until all daily duties are complete, even if this means working more than 8 hours in one shift

· Learn about the different categories of ownership and membership within One Steamboat Place

· Learn about all other Timbers Properties, the Reciprocity Program, and the Timbers Collection

· Must be able to continually lift and/or move up to 25 pounds

· Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

· Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds

· Must be able to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, or crawl to fulfill cleaning and repair/maintenance tasks for up to 4 hours in length

· Able to stand and exert fast-paced mobility throughout resort for entire 8-hour shift

· Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity

· Must be able to grasp, write, use repetitive motion, listen, and hear

Work Environment:

· While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate

· Must be able to use appropriate personal protective equipment

· May be subject to atmospheric conditions that affect the respiratory system or the skin, including fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, or poor ventilation

· Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions

· Occasionally works in high, precarious places (ladders)

· Occasionally works in proximity to electrical current, high heat, or exposure to chemicals

· Frequently works near moving mechanical parts

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour

Sign on bonus:  $1000.00 ($200.00 paid on first pay date $800.00 paid after 90 days of FT employment)
